WASHINGTON HOSPITAL CENTER ORGAN DONATION I recently received an invitation to the kidney donation reception at the Washington Hospital Center. The reception gives the recipient the opportunity to thank the person who donated the kidney. Each day about 19 people die waiting to receive an organ. The African-American community should be especially concerned. Blacks are three times more likely to experience kidney failure than Whites. We thank everyone who is willing to donate an organ and save a life. Please register for organ donation and safe a life.
